I have Thursday off, and the current forecast looks gorgeous. Anyone want to get to Shagg? I'm in Portland if there's a carpool possibility.

I'd do Whitehorse or Cathedral or something too, if no one's feeling hard sport...anyone? Bueller?

Actually yes, but the rain forecast was making me a little nervous - any ideas?

From past experience I know a lot of the routes stay dry at Shagg in the rain. I'd rather hit Rumney honestly since it's a closer drive for me and the approach isn't as heinous. I also know of plenty of climbs there that will also be dry even if it rains. Right now they are saying a 50% chance of showers at 9am and then it looks clear till 2pm.

Rumney is an extra hour each way for me, so it might be a stretch, but I could try. If routes stay dry, I'm definitely up for going to Shagg.

I hear ya, except Rumney is 2 hours for me whereas Shagg is 3 plus a 30 - 45 minute approach. Plus the dirt roads on the way to Shagg will probably be a mudfest. If you decide you want to make the trek to Rumney let me know. I'll pm you my cell#

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
