Hey, I am going to be climbing at Moore's next month and looking for some recommendations in the 5.6-5.8 range. I plan on trying Zoo View and Air show, but I assume those routes get pretty crowded since they are the most popular. Are there any others I should climb if they are busy?

Wailing Wall is fantastic and definitely holds your attention for 5.6. Rap station is around the corner in a notch, take 2 ropes.

Raise Hell 5.8 and Golden Earring 5.7 both in the amphitheater, just right of wailing wall are good routes as well. The extension to golden earring (step and fetch) is a better finish than the traverse. If by next month you mean November you may be chasing sun as Moore's gets kind of chilly that time of year.

You really won't have a problem with crowds. Air Show is probably more like a 5.9, just FYI (my assumption), as Zoo View is for all intents and purposes 5.8. Everything at Moore's is awesome. Another climb in the 5.7 range that I like is called Blueberries.

Aloof Roof is another good 5.8 in the Amphitheater. Don't worry about bringing 2 ropes, a single 60m rope works at all the rap stations.

Thanks guys. Looks like some good routes to checkout. If it is cold which areas get sun in the morning, which areas are better in the afternoon?

My favorite route of that grade at Moores is Step and Fetch (5.8). If it had the same exposed positions as zoo view it would definitely be the more classic route, but it's a bit tucked into a corner. Washboard is a very fun 5.6 that is a good introduction to the area. I'll second the above comments - there may be a (very short) line for zoo view, but I really doubt there will be anyone on air show. As far as grades go, I think zoo view is accurately graded at 5.7, but I could see the argument for air show to be called 5.9. The guidebook isn't lying, it really is steep and strenuous with multiple cruxes. They are both great routes, air show especially deserves more love than it gets.

Zoo view is awesome...you don't know what you are getting into at first but everything works out fine.
