OK friends: what, in your opinion, is the best single pitch trad climbing in or out of the US? Favorites of mine include Squamish and Indian Creek (and non-creek desert crags). Let's keep this one positive :) Ok, go! (searched MP, and didn't find this thread already - is that possible?)

It's still Yosemite. Take pitch 7 of the Rostrum, for example. One of the best pitches in the world. Pitch 23 of the Salathe? A winner. Etc etc etc Not allowed to count pitches off the deck, I'd still say Yosemite. Some amazing P1's there, and all kinds of good single-pitch climbs.

Right on good choices. Yeah I was shooting for trad cragging, but your right that lots of p1 are worthy. How about international favorites?

Single pitch should imply ground to top in in one pitch. Not the 9th pitch of some wall out west. Being from the east coast in going to agree on the Gunks. However the wife and I did a memorable pitch in mass. Leominster it was. And it was pretty insane!

Wall Street in Moab is pretty nice. Indian Creek splitters but with zero approach and add to the fact that there are some sport climbs there too. Now if only it was 50x larger, we would be talking.

Stanage Edge. Joshua Tree. Smoke Bluffs, Squamish. For choices where I don't have to commit to flying there: Montagne d'Argent, Quebec Val David, Quebec

Now, I haven't climbed at Indian Creek (not sure how I have let that happen), so that might be the best I guess, however I've climbed at the others mentioned, and I would go for Peak Gritstone (England) and Pembroke (Welsh sea cliffs). The latter is limestone, which isn't normally thought off as great trad, but boy is it good. Both places are great over a very wide range of grades (although only 5.9 up in the case of Pembroke, but the 5.9s are fantastic).

I've climbed at Pembroke too, but I think the weather axes it in my book. I have to go with J Tree for that reason. February in J Tree can't be beat!
