Hello Georgia!

Recommendations for climbing that is also near kayaking. And go!

Thanks!

The climbing's not great, but there is kayaking along the chattahoochee and a few places (palisades, long island, island ford, maybe even allenbrook) that are very close to areas you can kayak. Other than the palisades east/west, most areas I mentioned are documented well enough on MP to find and check out.

Yosemite!
Around here though, Chattooga plus Whitesides, LK, Tallulah, etc is a good day/weekend. Earl's Ford to Bull is good class 3 run and Bull to Camp Creek is a nice class 4 run with a takeout minutes from Tallulah(which is convenient only when the Gorge doesn't have a climbing restriction in place).

Anywhere in between Highlands and Brevard is great for climbing/kayaking weekends. Looking Glass, Cathy's Creek, Cedar Rock, etc for climbing. Whiteside, Laurel Knob, Rumbling Bald not too far either. Kayaking nearby you've got the Horsepasture, Toxaway, Looking Glass Creek, Forks of the French Broad, Davidson, and tons more. Obviously, they don't run all year but great for Winter/Spring. You can even climb at the North Face of Looking Glass while it's raining and you're waiting on the rivers to come up!

Oh and there's tons of free forest service camping throughout the area.

Couple of hours drive for a day trip, to camping depending on the distance. My schedule is flexible.

Allenbrook is pretty fun if you have the gear to setup toprope. It's on the river.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
