Sport gear

|
Hey all, I'm buying my first set of sport gear. So far I have shoes, harness, atc, 12 draws, 3 locking biners, 2 60cm slings, 1 30cm sling and 60m rope. Is there anything essential I'm missing? Sorry if its a repeat question did a couple searches and nothing was immediate. |

A chalk bag might be advisable. |

Some sort of stick clipping device, perhaps? The Superclip is my favorite. |

Heh, you guys are hilarious. But hey, stereotypes are derived from the behavior of the majority. If I had a dime for every shirtless [Prana] beanie-wearer... |

But for real - Lance, I'd recommend checking out a guide book, Mtn Project, etc for the areas you want to climb and ensuring you've got what you need. At my local crag the rim bolts are generally set back pretty far from the actual rim and there are no chains. I went bopping up there (dear God, nearly 15 years ago now) without the right gear. Gotta love stereotypes haha but ill take a closer look at the guide books and everything to see if it recommends anything. Didn't think about that, Thanks! |

Don't see a mention of rope bag or tarp, something worth considering to make your rope and gear last long. Don't forget some bail gear - carabiners or quick links, carabiners preferable. Don't forget a pack of some sort to get all that gear to the crag. Have a bag and chalk just forgot to mention it, also don't know how I feel about clip sticks. Also thanks for the tarp idea, I didn't want to buy a rope bag because I'm cheap |
