How warm is too warm in the VRG?

I've spent a good amount of time in St. George, climbing at the Cathedral/Wailing Wall and black and tan...but never the VRG. I know it's quite a bit lower in elevation, but I'm heading that way in about a week or two and curious if it'll be good still there?

Other than the sun cave its all northeastish facing and steep, so very little sun. I've climbed there when its 90 degrees outside and enjoyed it, but I don't mind hot weather as long as its shaded. However, I would think most folks hot weather "sending temps" wouldn't bother climbing there if its hotter than 75 in mesquite. I personally would climb there right now.

Wind speed and direction are big factors for good VRG conditions. Go early and with wind it can be great until about 2pm even when mesquite is 85.

If you PM me and I will send you the NOaa point forecast we use for VRG to check wind.

So 85 in Mesquite is a good cut off temp for the VRG then?

SMR knows what she's talking about but I've never had a good day there if it was over 58 degrees and/or 20% relative humidity. VRG season is over.

I also heard it's too hot for the Cathedral/Wailing Wall now as well? Is this true? It's been a long time, so I'm not quite sure of the temperatures that are good for that area.

Looks like the forecast is for mid 70's for st. George. I think that's pretty decent for Wailing wall. It seems like its always a fine line at that place depending on the wind. 60's with no wind is good but pretty cold in the morning, 70s could be a touch on the warm side but good if there is a breeze.

I know, right? We're gonna go for it and I'll drive to St. George midweek next week. I have about 3 weeks and it's just too miserable here right now to entertain the idea of sticking around.
