Shelving Rock Road Closed: Lake George, Adirondacks

The road was closed yesterday by the highway department (3/31) for mud-season. This impacts the Shelving Rock/ Carhartt Wall as well as the Ark Wall. We'll give a shout when things dry up.

There's houses most of the way in there, so I'm guessing it's only the last couple miles? Maybe past the Shelving hiking trailhead lot?

The road was still gated at the Sleeping Beauty corner today (4/23). Looks like they're doing culvert work...

I hear the road is open again. Anybody hear otherwise?

The DEC page says they opened the road to Shelving on 5/1...headed out there this afternoon.
