T-Wall Car Break-Ins

I'm headed Chatty-wards soon and am psyched to get on some incredible cracks, but I've also heard that there has been in the past a bit of a problem with valuables and gear liberating themselves from cars left in the parking lot.

Is this still going on or has it quieted down in the last few years?

edit: If it's still going on, is it practical to leave a car full of stuff somewhere else (busy parking lot maybe?) and carpool to the crag? Or cache valuables somewhere nearby?

Thanks!

Yeah haven't heard of or seen break ins in the last couple years. If you are there on a nice weekend the lot will be busy with people coming and going all day limiting the opportunity for break ins.

I've heard of a few break ins in the last year there...last one was a month or so ago. I would definitely leave valuables elsewhere and car pool if you can. Best place may be soon after getting off of the exit of the interstate...not as many options to leave a car the closer you get to T Wall.

Funny thing to see this. I was broken into near the TWall in early 1980 at Suck Creek. The Local's there at TWall told us to not leave anything in the vehicle. We always hiked our stuff into the woods and covered it up and left the car unlocked. SOS just another day in the deep South!
Be on the alert. Peace

leave a car with stuff over at the BiLo thats on the way. Then just take what you need. I've never been broken into, but i drive a ford focus without advertisements that i'm a climber on it (no stickers etc).

Probably have camped at Twall 40+ times.
Never had any problems with any break-ins.
It has really settled down in the past couple of years. The locals used to drive by honking their horns all night, occasionally stopping doing burn outs in the parking lot...ect but it have been very quite the past couple of times I have been there.

Thanks for the info, everyone!

I'll be down in the area in mid-late Feb, maybe longer; if anyone is in need of a partner, give me a shout.
