Grad student at UNLV looking for partners for the weekdays during my spring break. All of my climbing friends work during the week and no one in my program climbs, so I was hoping to find a few other folks who are free on the weekdays and want to tick off some long moderate classics before it gets way too hot. About me: WFR certified easygoing physics-major-turned-creative-writing grad student. I'm pretty easy to get along with.

I'm a bit new to trad but led Cat in the Hat last Sunday and felt pretty comfy all the way. On the ticklist:

Johnny Vegas/Solar Slab
Olive Oil
Birdland
Jubilant Song
Dodgeball
Geronimo
etc.

I can usually lead sport up to 10b and follow 10c. Obviously different on trad, since I'm still learning placement and energy conservation, but I'd feel okay following up to 5.8, leading 5.6 or easy 5.7. I'm also fine building bolted anchors and rappelling, but gear anchors still take me a bit of time and thought.
Have 60m rope, single set of cams, nuts, hexes and a few tricams.

Let me know!

Hi Austin, Euclid, Others!

I'm a 36-year old male chemist from DC who was planning to be in Vegas at RR from 3-26 - 4/3 (leaving in the AM) together with my regular climbing partner, when he injured himself and had to bail. Thankfully, we were headed out with a larger group for 3/26 - 3/30 (Saturday) to climb with.

They're headed out early Sunday, so I'm specifically looking for folks to climb multipitch with on Sunday 3/31, Monday 4/1, and Tuesday 4/2. It'd be great to get together the week before and climb a little sport or trad single pitch stuff together before tackling something more committing.

About me: I've been sport climbing, bouldering, top roping, following, and even a little mountaineering for over 20 years around the US and Europe. Finally got into leading trad this past year. Last time at RR, I led Birdland and Dark Shadows, but hope to hit some more classics like Frogland, Lotta Balls, and Crimson Chrysalis this time around. I'm also open to some of the 5.6-5.7 classics (Olive Oil, Tunnel Vision, etc.). On sport, I project low 11s, and am happy to follow someone up to higher 10s.

I have a twin/half rope and full rack replete with hexes, tri-cams, off-witdth nuts, and double cams to #2 (I have a #5, but a big bro could be useful).

Send me a PM if you're available and interested.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
