I tie my ends separately, BTW. Never used an ATC.

Nope - not anymore. I'm following BCGarners advice and clip each end to gear loop.

I use a figure eight, mostly. I have a grigri, but it's mostly for sporto stuff or Walls.
I want two knots. one on each strand, unless I see line lying on the ground.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
