LOWA Weisshorn vs Vertical GTX Boot Warmth

im looking into both of these boots for mixed/ice and traditional alpine routes.

most importantly im looking for a comparison in warmth. also is one more suited to purely technical routes or the approach?

I emailed Lowa about this and got an answer. Unfortunately, that was last year, so I don't remember what they said. But, if you email them, I'm sure they'll answer you, too.

The Wiesshorn GTX will be a little warmer than the Vertical GTX. the Weishorn has an adjustable double tongue and uses Gore Duratherm insulation which is located behind the Gore-Tex liner which insures your insulation stays dry. the split-grain mountaineering leather and high rubber rand on the Weisshorn help to retain heat better than the Synthetic upper on the Vertical. the Vertical is excellent for mixed climbing and vertical ice because it is so light, and has a completely rigid sole. The Weisshorn is excellent for vertical ice and general mountaineering.

seems like manufactures should start rating warmth (like they do for sleeping bags) for mountaineering/ice climbing/expedition boots (its subjective up to a point but so are sleeping bag ratings).
