Any info on this area would be nice, bouldering? free camping etc? I know there are routes but I'm doing a 4 day solo trip with the mtn bike and dog so general stuff is fine-thanks.

Free camping - yes. I believe there are some pay sites grouped near the bridge below buckhorn wash, but every other "site" is free. Don't expect water. Use the toilets where ever you can find them - they are scattered.

No idea about bouldering. Where are you going in the swell?

The Swell is so enormous that it is hard to generalize about. There is some good bouldering along the trail that goes upstream along the San Rafael River form the bridge. Lots of adventure bouldering everywhere else you look too, though not infested with beanie bro brahs so beta i hard to come by. There are occasionally groups climbing at Dylan Wall or the other cragging areas in the Buckhorn that you might be able to catch TR rides with.

The Buckhorn is cool, but it is crowded and atypical for the swell that way. Check out Head of Sinbad, Cane Wash, Eagle Canyon, Swaseyland, etc. for more solitude. Its a good place to wander - you'll find towers everywhere, arches, indian rock art, old frontier cabins, etc. If your dog is good scrambling or being left for a little while the scrambles up Mexican Mountain and the San Rafael Knob are really great.
