To my fellow outdoor crazies, June 4th, I will be setting out on a solo bike tour across the country with a few nice cameras and my dad's old 80's mountain bike. This ride is going to be taking me to some of the most amazing places in this country. Places like Glacier, The Grand Tetons, Zion, The Grand Canyon and countless others. The trip will be over 5000 miles and take over 3 months. (give or take a month or two) At 21 yrs old, I've found a great passion in getting others excited and involved in doing great things. I'll be documenting just how much one person can accomplish with the support of their fellow man (or woman). The cameras will be pointed at all the amazing people I will meet along the way, as well as be along for all the side trips, climbs, summits and completely random happenings that make doing a crazy trip like this and living the climbing lifestyle all worth while. I am humbly asking for your support in any way possible. This doesn't just mean money... I want more than anything to get as many people involved and in this documentary as possible. Support could include a place to stay along the way if I'll be in your neck of the woods at some point, giving suggestions of great places to go that have been inspiring to you already, simply showing me around your town and introducing me to all of your climbing bum friends! I've posted a route map for the tour on the donations page, so if nothing else just feel free to just take a look at that and see where I'll be heading. If you have any questions of comments or just want to BS about doing awesome stuff, don't hesitate! I'd love to hear from you! SO... to wrap this up, I'll include a link to a donations page below this where you can send me a little spare change to keep the jetboil going and the headlamps on. Any support you can give is deeply appreciated. Here is a link to the support page - Support the documentary "Living Your Passion" you can also email me at erikonabike@gmail.com Thank you all so much, Cheers! Erik Gordon

Some unsolicited advice: Unless you are using your dad's old mountain bike for some symbolic/sentimental reason, it would behoove you to invest in a proper touring bike. I'm a stickler for efficiency, I'll admit, but 5000 miles of touring on an old mountain bike is something that anyone who has done any bike touring will caution against. A good touring bike will be more comfortable, more reliable, and faster than the mountain bike. Getting the right bike will cost some money, but if you are going to commit to a big trip like this, it is worth it to make the investment to do it right.

Thanks for the responses! I fixed the link and it should be working now! Just to throw it out there, I've done multiple tours of 1000 miles plus on this bike (not JUST an old mountain bike.. the frame is an old mountain bike frame, everything else has been customized and updated.) No worries, I'm not a beginner at this. Thanks for looking out though. There is more info on the support page if anyone is interested. I'll put anyone who is interested in the "dirt bag address book" and be sure to let you know when I'm in your area, it'd be great to meet up for a climb or a beer!
