Blogging is kinda cool... I'm always on the fence about whether or not I want to do it (I have in the past). I think its mostly a generational thing as well - I'll stick with journaling... although I've really drawn a lot of good information and inspiration from the blogs others have maintained. To each their own.

I like your blog - it's obvious that you've put a lot of thought and hard work into it's format and the quality of it's content. It's a good goal, keep it up.

Nice dude! Good to see you're getting things started. In your original post I said that I was going to try to do 31 5.12's in my 31st year of life. So far I've redpointed two 12a's and I'm close on a few more. I'm keeping track of my ascents in the tick list feature of this site.

I'm headed to Shelf Road this weekend and hopefully it'll be a weekend of sending!

Good luck on your goal! Ignore those (SJ) who don't follow Guideline #1 (don't be a jerk).

Good goal and good luck. When I turned 41 my climbing season goal was to Redpoint/flash 41 New to me 5.12as-13as that season. Mission was accomplished, although I did have to Redpoint some 0 stars routes to reach it.

Noticed on your blog you went to Hell and it was wet rock. Billboard is very likely dry and there a number 12s to do (Beeline, Death of Salesman, To Hell on Rocket...) Or have you checked out Watchtower??
Step right up there is awesome and usually a very early season send.

I guess i can no longer ignore all the advice...you aren't the first person to tell me about 'Billboard'....you just added to that...i guess i have to check it out now...thanks man! Appreciate it truely...

Lewis, cool blog and great goal / project.

I am turing 45 this year, and my goal / project is to do 45 pitches in a single day. I will probably not be doing too many hard climbs (if any!) on that day, but am going to have fun doing lot's of 10's and below with a good buddy that has agreed to be belay slave for a day.

Best of luck in reaching your goal and keep the updates coming.

Thanks man! Good luck to you also...45 pitches in a day would be a great thing to do...perhaps that will be something for me down the line... Keep me posted on your progress...& be safe...

This gets harder as you get older, ya know!

56 pitches in a day?

56 5.12 pitches in a year?

Oh, God, you and your Oprah Winfrey kick should speak.

But, seriously, a documentary about somebody sending x # of climbs doesn't sound like must see viewing. Is there a good cause or something? Mustaches?

explanation: I wasn't the one w/ the idea of making a documentary...some word got out about who i was & what i've been through & what i was now doing, & i was contacted...sure, the climbing is a huge part of my personal goal & drive, but let's face it, 5.12 climbing isn't ground breaking, I am aware of this (not like I'm pushing 5.16 or anything) the documentary focusing around (of course) my climbing, but married to the fact that I was the worst kind of Alcoholic & drug addict for 10 years, close to dying a little more then a year ago... in the long run, we are hoping to raise awareness about addiction & the possibilities of the human spirit, evolution of the mind, & showing that if one wants something better for themselves, it is possible (in short...sorry, now i feel like i'm rambling)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
