In previous threads people asked about my Mt. Rainier survival epic and the I Shouldn't Be Alive show made about it, so I am letting you know that the book is now out: "The Ledge: An Adventure Story of Friendship and Survival on Mount Rainier" amazon.com/Ledge-Adventure-… Please excuse the commercial aspect of this post. Thanks.
I am currently in Afghanistan working as a contractor. My parents sent me a copy of your book "The Ledge" for a Christmas present. Man what a tragic experience you went through. Im not going to get into the details about the book but I wanted to say thanks. Thanks, because it helped me to get through some difficult times over here. I think it was my Dad's idea that if I read about someone elses survival story. I will be just as strong and survive my own. And I have a real itch to summit Mt. Rainier.
It was cool to read about your childhood and how you painted the Memorial bridge that crosses over the Piscataqua River in NH/ME. I was in the Coast Guard and patrolled that river almost everyday.
Thanks for your positive comments about "The Ledge" Kevin. I hope the story helps you in some way. Stay safe over there, and keep dreaming about the snowy peaks waiting for you when you get home. Thanks WingLady - keep rockin' with your great writing too!
