Hey, So I am moving to Zion for Work, starting in March. I would love to do some climbing. I see that there is not a lot of sport climbing which is the only experience I have. Ive never climbed trad, so I probably wouldn't lead it, but I wouldn't mind belaying and following.

Springdale is a small place, who knows who you will be working with.

Janelle,

I would love to do some climbing out there with you, I know some great 5.9/10 cracks that are just amazing. I also know some local guys and some other friends that live in saint george but climb out there all the time. Just let me know!!!

My climbing partner and I mostly do sport climbing around St. George (we go out about 2-3 times a week), and sometimes (but not very often) in Zion. You are welcome to contact me if you would like to join us some time.

Also interested for a week or so of climbing if possible.

Not keen on down-time though.

If you are moving there to work for the NPS you will be set finding partners. Without naming names there are several great guys/girls who work and climb there. Just make it known you are looking to climb and you'll be on the rock in no time. I worked there last season and was lucky to get out about 3-4 days a week the entire summer. The benefit of living there, is you can still go out do plenty of climbing in 100+ degree heat because you grow acclimated to the temps. I'll be in Bryce this season and making regular trips back to Zion so maybe i'll see you around.

It is, plenty of free camping around that area though. Enjoy your week down there, if you need a partner for something drop me a line.

I would, Ryan, if I knew three weeks ago
