any suggestions for someone moving to Zion

I am moving to springdale to work in zion National Park. I was wondering if anyone had any sugestions on must do routes and areas. I do have a rack but I mostly sport climb.

1. don't work for the park

2. if you do work for the park, try and live in town.

3. Snow Canyon for Sport climbing.

4. Make sure you get into the binge drinking with the LE rangers.

5. Have Fun on off days from climbing by Canyoneering.

Can't tell you much about the climbing routes there, but I do know that Zion has really fun canyoneering - Mystery Canyon, Middle Echo Canyon, Pine Creek, Keyhole, just to name a few . Tom's guidebook is a good one for route beta on the canyoneering routes anyway.

If you end up liking canyoneering, venture into Escalante- Egypt 3, and Neon Canyon are fun routes!

Zion has virtually no sport climbing...

St. George has gobs, and, some really good.

Utah Hills, VRG...etc. Plenty of beta on this site and in the Todd Goss' guidebook to the area.
