Yesterdays Cathedral Spires Trail Day was a huge success with 24 volunteers showing up to lend a hand in cutting a new trail alignment on the lower 1/3 of the Cynical Pinnacle Climber Access. Conditions were less than ideal with areas of frozen soil being encountered on much of the work area. The volunteers that showed up came to work and not one uttered a complaint or seemed discouraged by the conditions. In fact if anything many seemed to feed off of the challenging conditions and worked furiously the entire day. I would just like to extend my gratitude to those that showed up yesterday and helped us take the first step in making the Cynical Pinnacle Climber Access Trail more sustainable, safer, and pleasant to use. A great deal of thanks is also due to the Access Fund and Colorado Mountain Club for helping to make this trail day a success. Thank you all!
I realized just now that I embarrassingly forgot to mention that Zoka's Restaurant in Pine Grove totally hooked up all the volunteers that participated in the January 14th event with a steep discount on meals after the event. Remember to think of them when your tummy is a rumbling after a long day in the Platte.
