I'm planning a trip out to the Wasatch Range to climb Squawstruck and was wondering when the weather is warm enough to climb. Is there much snow in the spring?

now would be a great time to climb it.

There will likely still be snow on the descent trail in the spring. The face dries out pretty quickly because it's fully south-facing, though, and the climb itself should be plenty dry.

Thanks for the info. Is the temperature reasonable at the end of april/beginnning of may? Is rain much of a problem?

Yeah, the temps should be great then. That's the rainiest time of the year, though take that for what it's worth. It's still desert, and Provo isn't Seattle. But you could get a day that's 70 degrees and sunny, or you could get 50 degrees with cold rain.

I've done the route twice (and the first half more than that) so take this for what it's worth.
Just a warnining, as of today there is a ALOT of snow up there which means two things 1) the rock might be wet. It's been pretty warm lately and if you are going on a warmer day, that side of the canyon takes a lot of sun, so you could well have snow melt coming down on you for about 20 of the 22 pitches. 2) the descent is a (roughly) 2 mile descent. When I did the climb in May there was no snow on the actual climb but the descent trail surprised us by containing snow that went up to my knees in some places and a seemingly endless slog through a steep trail that was really muddy due to the snow melt. We hiked down it in the dark it and took about 2 hours becusae we couldnt find the trail with all the snow.
That being said, each time i've done it has been an absolute blast and I'm glad I did it. You might want to wait for the snow to clear though.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
