Should he anchor with a sliding X, quad or equalette, though? This thread is far from over!

If you're going to use a ship's anchor wrapped up with a ton of fishing line at least have that big bastard take it up to the top of the climb for you.

I gotta make a call to santa about some guy leavin' a big ass anchor that someone bootied and now wants his shit back. eastcoast forum...

I just don't understand why it matters to people when they think a thread is stupid. Like, just don't reply or something? There's an infinite amount of space on the internet.

listen, johnny ringo. it's not that difficult to understand. if belaying from above use the diagram in a previous post, make damn sure your anchor is solid, or you both bust your asses. If belaying from the ground just anchor your self to something solid, like maybe a sand bag or some shit, it's as easy as that. Here's my story... I was trying to get laid one afternoon, talkin' shit to this little minx, like the chick in shallow hal. I was like wanna go climbing with me, trying to be slick, she says sure. so, off we went to the crag, the whole time i was like WTF am i gonna do now. She is smokin' hot, i'm drunk as shit and my harness is just a little snug on her. so, luckily i had a sand bag with me and an extra harness, i girth hitched the sand bag, clipped in and off so went, climbing so effortlessly. When she got to the anchor things got a little interesting. When she let go, i kind of tried to sit down to absorb some of the rope stretch, guess what, you got it, i was pulled off the ground about 6 ft. sand bag and all, i kept my cool though. I lowerd her to the ground and told her she was kick ass and we went back to my place and got it on...moral of the story ...keep your cool.

I'm confused, was she a little minx...or a big fat fatty?

As a big guy who has been belayed by wife and girl friends as well as smaller climbing partners... wear gloves, and don't cross a glacier with just him on a rope. Climb with a bigger party! Big people are fun too!

Those results are for lead falls, you're just tr'ing & won't see anything that high. If you have an anchor that's at issue with a tr fall, you need to reconsider your anchor. Granted if you have an anchor that is at issue with a lead fall, also needs to be reconsidered. Answer one of your questions on the Guide, it's fine. If you're going to top-site him, you can give him a haul/assist which he can help. It's not like you're going for overhanging terrain. Whatever you're doing, just make it so it's an easy escape. Just don't put him down a cliff with no way to get out, or otherwise help him/have him help himself.
