Grigri 2 Keeper Cord

Anyone have an idea of how to do this mod? |

To keep it from falling at a belay station? If you're belaying isn't it attached with a 'biner, I hope? If you've got it racked, isn't it attached to a gear loop with a 'biner? Not trying to kill your idea but it seems unnecessary to me, rather, I don't see where it would be necessary. |

You have to take it off the biner to feed the rope into the device. I could see this being useful on a bigwall. |

I'll bet the OP means a keeper-loop so that it can be clipped to something while the rope is inserted / removed from the device. For use on multipitch terrain, especially walls, this seems like a very prudent precaution to take. |

Ok, duly noted. I didn't know the 'biner had to come off to feed the rope through. |

Yeah, a photo of the solo mod on the G2 would be great! |

Never tried it on the new model, but I assume it's similar? |

Hey guys, thanks for the advice, and the link to supertopo was really instructive. Looking at my Grigri 2, I'm certain I could do the same modification. After speaking with a friend of mine who has climbed with a moded grigri for years; he convinced me to just tie a loop around the biner hole like divnamite suggests. |
