I'll be traveling in Spain for ten days and would LOVE to find someone to climb with. I have a full trad rack I just need a partner or guide while I'm out there, any advise would be tremendous!
I spent a month traveling/climbing in Spain earlier this year. No need to bring a rack: There is not much in the way of traditional climbing (they shamelessly bolt cracks in Spain and most of the climbing is on limestone).
My favorite spot (the location I should have spent the whole trip) was El Chorro. You can take the train to the climber's campground from Malaga. The campground is awesome and has a swimming pool, community kitchen, and included wifi for 8EUR/night. Most importantly, if you go to this campground, you will find a partner pretty easily. Let me know if you have any questions about climbing in Spain.
I will also be traveling in Spain, between Madrid and Barcelona. looking to climb the weekend of Oct. 15-Oct16. It doesn't look like it would work, but I would appreciate any input, as I have never climbed there, and would like to maximize my short climbing window. Would it be helpful to hire a guide? Ralf
Hey folks, I live in Avila about an hour and a half north of Madrid and would love to climb at La Pedriza soon. If anyone is in Madrid and wants to get outside let me know.
