Holy Buyers Market Batman!!

So yesterday, inspired by the rain, I put some cams I don't use anymore up for sale.

As a result, I went ahead and unhid the for sale posts to keep track of my little sale. I've had them hidden for a while, so I really had no idea. Holy Crap!!

In the first hour, my ad was behind like 5 or 6 other new ads. In a few hours, I was behind even more. This morning, I'm a couple pages back.

Everything has been coming up, clothes, tents, ledges, old cams (like mine), quadruple sets of nearly new camalots, pins, ice stuff, it's mind boggling the amount of stuff that's coming up.

I'm not whining that my stuff got over shadowed. If I want to sell, I'll either repost with prettier pictures or go to ebay. I'm not worried.

This post is just me saying "damn".

I hope the people selling are just re-aligning some priorities and aren't paying rent/bills/food with their cherished gear.

Never! Selling gear to pay bills is the last thing i would do, the first being selling blood and other bodily fluids and as it appears I'm fresh out of blood so can I borrow $10 for the gas bill?

Not a buyers market when c4s and mastercams sell used for more than I paid new, though.

I've been buying up a lot of gear / books and been having great experiences. I even put a shortcut icon on my android phone...it has been an expensive icon :(

I know what you mean. I finally got the energy to gather up the extra gear and start selling a week or so ago too. Seems the 4Sale ads have greatly increased in the last month for sure. Back to school funds needed? Rent? Tuition, books, and paying for the next road trip to the Red? Could be a combo of all the above.

Yeah - I don't think it is much of a buyer's market. The standard economics of supply and demand don't seem to work with climbing gear. I've bought new for less than some people are selling used.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
