Thanks for the pics Olaf. Tony I agree that the Flatirons are way underrated, amazing climbing in a picturesque setting.

Now back to the Platte. It's not all cracks....

But how could you say no to either of these cracks.

Platte Rat:

Someone who not only climbs, but lives by the mantra: A rope, a rack, and the shirt on your back because it's not about numbers or grades, or trad vs sport, or anything but the adventure and occasionally sand-bagging your partner.

Defining Charecteristics:
-6AM is a late start, gotta beat the afternoon rain
-Just as good at off-width as anything else
-Uses hexes because cams are heavy and expensive, not because they are "purists"
-Doesn't mind a "stiff" approach
-Has said at least once "You mean you don't go to the top and walk off?"
-Has said an infinite amount of times "That'd be just 5.9 at Turkey"

Haha I could say no pretty easily to the one on the right! The number one reason I don't buy large cams is having a good excuse not to do wide cracks.

Center Route - can you say Sustained - Full Value - 5.9? I'd say that's about as perfect a 3 pitch 5.9 as there gets. You'll wish it would keep going, but you may be too waxed and happy that it doesn't.

"The Class Act" makes a great final pitch and tops out on the summit.
It's a MUST do in my opinion!
