hi all,
I wanted to let you all know that the new Obed guidebook - The Obed: A Climber's Guide to the Wild and Scenic – by Kelly Brown, is now available for Pre-Sale at GreenerGrassPublishing.com.

If you pre-order you will receive a $5 discount off the cover price, your book will be shipped the day it arrives in the warehouse, and you will be entered into a drawing to win $200 for gas for a climbing road trip. The bulk shipment is expected in early July.

For those interested, there will also be a book-signing and release party at Del's Lilly Pad in the Obed sometime in July, after the release. More details to follow.

Happy climbing!

This book is going to be fantastic. Kelly Brown has the Obed in his blood.

Looking forward to it!

Just got an advance copy from Andy in the mail today (muchos gracias Andy!) so I can review it for a couple of websites (UpstateBouldering.blogspot.com and Cruxn.com)...this thing is freakin awesome! So much easier to know which route is which compared to the Dixie Cragger's and the Lilly Boulders FINALLY get their just deserves! Same impressive style the HP40 and LRC Guidebooks sported, eye popping pictures and easy to follow topo's. I'm so stoked to take the guide on a test drive next weekend and climb some new routes I could never find before. The preorder sale is a sweet deal ($5 off and a chance for the $200 roadtrip drawing) and I don't think anyone will be disappointed with the guide...roped climber or boulderer.

And by the way, Kelly hit the nail on the head with his writing also! His recounts of the development of the area is insightful and his approach to providing info will be respected and appreciated by the old schoolers and new schoolers alike.

Here's a question. How many routes have as many stars as Rage, which I have to assume got the max? I know I'm going back to the Obed to do Rage, but are there other routes of the same quality? I obviously already know about Solstice.

There are a total of 10 other 5 star routes listed with Rage. Spawn is easiest at .10b/c and Maximum Overdrive is hardest at .13a. Obed has plenty to offer whatever sport grade someone is climbing...1 route can hardly define it.

I just finished a review of this guide on UpstateBouldering.blogspot.com and Cruxn.com that might answer some questions or curiosities that folks might have. Great guidebook!!

Just got word from the printer that the books will be delivered sooner than anticipated. The new delivery date is next Monday, June 27th! Pre-order your copy now if you want to receive the discount and be entered into the $200 road trip drawing. All books will ship as soon as they arrive, and all discounts and entrance into the drawing will end at that time!

Happy climbing!

Andy -- I want to order one of these, but is there no other payment option than Google? I really don't want to set up yet another login account on the web if I can avoid it.

Thanks, the new guide sounds great!
