Did La Sport stop making the largest sized muiras?

Hey all,

I wear muiras in size 46. My trusty pair is on its final days after three resoles.

Looking for a replacement, I can only find them in size 44 and smaller. Did la sport stop making the bigger sizes?

Sportiva's site still lists 33-46, not sure if they're actually available. But I had this problem when I went to get a pair of Miura VS. If you're looking at EMS, it seems that they'll only do some of the larger sizes by special (not cheap) order. You pay full retail and shipping etc. I did get a pair in 44.5 from E-OMC though.

It's possible that they stopped making the lace up version because I tried to find them in 46 for a few months and couldn't. Every site claimed they had them on backorder. Ended up settling for the VS, which in retrospect worked out better than I thought it would and I'm happy I didn't get the lace ups now.

What size foot are you Evan? I've been interested in checking the muiras out, but I don't know if they'll fit in a 46. I wear a 47 in the mythos and they're snug but comfy.

La Sportiva seems to really short the larger footed folks. I have a size 14 (48) which I don't think is all that uncommon, but in many of their shoes and boots they don't even make up to a size 48.

La Sportiva still makes the Miura in size 46 and they are in stock now at the warehouse. You can order directly from Sportiva here sportiva.com/products/prod/971.

Certain retailers carry a limited size run of products but you can always order directly from La Sportiva on their website if you can't find what you're looking for locally.

In street shoes I wear a 14. My foot shrank from a size 15 when I stopped playing basketball and started wearing climbing shoes. I have long, skinny, low volume feet.

I have a very old pair(4-5 resoles) of 45 mythos that were slightly uncomfortably snug when new and stretched to be an all day shoe.

It's a tough call. You might be good in a 46, but they will not stretch at all. They break in to conform to your feet, but unlike the mythos, they will not stretch.

Thanks for the info Evan. I've wanted to try them out, but have the same problem finding them as you. I could find them online, but would rather try them on first.

Best of luck in your search.

They won't stretch like Mythos, nothing does, but they will stretch some. I have two pairs of Muiras and they did stretch some.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
