Worth driving a few hours for a few days to climb here in April? Whadaya say?

If you are asking if it is worth it for you...........then the answer is YES. April could be still a bit chilly but go. Super classic.

I climbed there on April 3rd last year and conditions were stellar. No leaves on the trees make for an interesting perspective.

Most likely, yes. Unless you are confined to certain dates and some major spring storm wreaks havoc at that time. Normal temps and weather should be fine to go.

yeah, coming from New Hampshire, the temps aren't what worry me. More concerned about wetness and storms....thanks for the feedback! Been there once, can't wait to go back!

You'll love it man. If you get tired of the crowds on the main carriage road during the weekend, just go over the steel bridge. Excellent climbs, with way less crowds. That side is actually better in my opinion, but know what climbs are on private land and what climbs aren't. Its one of the best areas I've been to.

I was out last season 1st week of April, and the weather was unbeatable. If it doesn't rain tomorrow, I will be doing a route or two. I am there generally every dry weekend, so maybe I'll see you at the cliffs!

it's fantastic. drastically less crowds than you'll find nearly any other time of year. you'll probably be able to walk up most of the classics and walk right on without a wait.

Wish it were so...last weekend the trapps lot was full and every moderate was occupied. Just like the summer time and it is only March!!!

I was there on Saturday, and it seemed pretty mellow to me.

I was there this past weekend (nice outside) and saw people out, but nothing outrageous. A little brisk in the morning, but great afternoon climbing weather. Didn't see another person on High Exposure when we ran up it. Had a small party wander up behind us on Shockley's. I haven't been in the summer, but there was plenty of fantastic climbing to be had this past weekend.
