Thinking about heading down next week but I've never been. How are the climbing/camping conditions looking for roughly the 7th-11th? Also, conditions permitting, anyone want to climb at RRG next week? I'll be leaving from and returning to around Rumney if anyone wants to hitch a ride.

FWIW - Conditions can be hit & miss this time of year. Lots of recent rain, possible lingering dampness, muddy approaches, etc. If possible follow the sun and be flexible in route choice.

Unless we have a big high pressure move in, which isn't currently on the forecast, conditions will be bad. E Kentucky has received a ton of rainfall in the past week, and most cliffs were still pouring with water yesterday despite two straight days of sun. The forecast for the next few days calls for more rain, which will make things worse. Some very steep routes may be climbable at times, but even those are susceptible to condensation, so may also be wet. For example, the entire Motherlode was wet on Sunday despite most climbs being steeply overhanging.

If possible, you should postpone your trip, or consider going further south, like Chattanooga.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
