This is an awesome thread. I don't have any hardman quotes of my own, but here are some of my favorite quotes from route descriptions on this website: P4. (5.10) More of the same. By now you should be used to the nature of the climbing. There are just enough bolts to tip the balance in favor of continuing upwards, but vegan-fed neurotic Sport Park regulars will need to bring a change of underwear. -Birds of Fire 5.11aR It is of the utmost importance that you bring a gym/sport climber to follow you on this route, especially if they are European. -Kor-Ingalls 5.9+ The route's still in for the brave of heart. Sideways snow doesn't stick. Thunder and lightning in the fall rarely strike the ground. The black rock is still sticky when it's wet; the white rock is not. The numbness in your feet will go away with time. -From a description of climbing the Culp-Bossier (5.8+), Hallett Peak, RMNP in September And two randoms: Whos going up? Whos gonna finish this pitch? We have a confirmed A5 pitch- heres the corpse. Go. Its your turn. -Chris Kalous As always, advance stemmed from one individual who pushed beyond convention. A committee of 5.9 climbers cannot meet and climb 5.10 or anything but 5.9. But one man can. -Paul Mayrose, describing John Gill

On my first crack climb, a few moves up: Me: "Is it supposed to hurt this much?" Everyone at the bottom: "YES!!!" Said with obvious joy.
