I was just up across the gully from the glass ocean in Big. We climbed the newly bolted lines that face west across the gully. Anyone have any info about the area?? All the bolts look new and they are caulked. Nice routes and fun climbing. Thanks to whom ever done it

A stroll into the oblivion by an unbeknownst passerby inadvertently may set off a whole nother long winded debate. Fuck, I thought this was down with. Better buckle up and enjoy the ride, because thats all you can do...

You should put up an entry in the routes database for the area, but don't put in any directions on how to get there.

No use in speculation until the intardnet folks know for sure IMO......(fingers crossed it isn't) Is there anything west facing across from GlassO that isn't Redrum and would look fresh and require "caulked" bolts? I agree though, better confirm. I'll go up tonight and check it out, pics or it's not happening.

Really!? Someone REbolted this place. Why?, whoever cut the bolts the first time proved that most every bolt was right beside good gear. And when I was up at glass ocean bout a month ago I noticed a couple bolts and a couple anchors were left on the wall. So whoever cut them left the ones they felt were needed. Although I did climb on geezer wall and it was definitly over bolted. But cut a couple and it would have been a good place for the beginner.

An another, sad note: I guess some crazy anchors and extra bolts have sprouted over on Tingey's. I haven't seen them but they supposedly have 000 stamped or written on them. All across the hike over to the Schoolroom Rappel, you can see several more anchors with the same setup. Kind of makes me want to pull my hair out.

I didn't bring the topo and have never seen the wall prior to the great removal so I can't say if everything has been rebolted. Based on how close some of the bolts were from each other and from bolts on other lines I'd say pretty much everything went back in though. You need sunglasses to look at Geezer from GlassO, the whole thing glitters with steel. No camouflaged hangers (nice...) The bolt heads are epoxied on the hanger to prevent removal. It's not as shitty-looking as I feared when I heard about glue. I'm not sure if all the bolts were epoxied but everything I saw from the ground was. 8 people climbing there on Labor Day, some attempting to lead the lines trad and making it sound like it was sketchy as hell.
