Pine sap on my shoes

So I got some pine sap on the sole of my climbing shoes. While I'm sure this will enable me to smear on even the slickest of rock I really want to get it off. Any suggestions on the best way to get it off?

100% lab grade acetone.

I would try something, I don't know what it is, but it might be motor oil.

White gas works too.

Rubbing alcohol will do the trick. When out in the field alcohol prep pads are easy to carry in your pack if you think you'll encounter tree sap and work like magic.

Yep, rubbing alcohol

No worry

You can use it on sap spots on your car too

Goof Off and/or Goo Gone should be in everyone's chemical cabinet.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
