Wanted to go over and work on some climbs on little granite mountain
is there any restrictions on those rocks... I used to climb there way back in the day .. but I dont know what the rich people have weaseled away from the community in that regard...
Thanks

Hi Shiloh,
All the rock climbing north of Dynamite is within the Recommended Study Boundary of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve (desired to be purchased but not yet owned by the City of Scottsdale). The City policy is that the historic rock climbing is still slated for protection within the Preserve when it is acquired.
Because Little Granite Mountain, Cholla Mountain and associated crags are on State Trust Land, the only restriction is that any climbers who enter the land north of Dynamite should have in their possession the required State Land Use permit. This will be enforced by both State Land Department Enforcement Officers and City of Scottsdale Police.
Individual and family permits can be purchased through the Arizona State Land Department's web site. I believe that the rates have gone up so this is unfortunately not a trivial matter for the users.

These permits ballooned up to $75 or so a few years ago, but are back down to $15.
