Story on KSL.COM is vague as usual... but describes accident as in vicinity of Beckey's Wall, female climber fell about 50 ft, Life Flighted out I think.... but expected to survive. Partner and nearby climbers assisted in lowering/rescue. Anyone got the scoop? Hope she's OK!

She fell from around the top of finger tip variation. Sounds like her and her partner were moving the belay when it happened? Her partner had some nasty rope burns on his hands and back, so I imagine something happened with the belay?

I arrived at the Gate just after the paramedics, but before SAR (except one), and was one of the bystanders assisting. I don't know exactly what happened, but she fell somewhere near the top (or above) Beckey's Wall. I am not comfortable relaying much more information, such as her injuries, etc. If I knew exactly what happened, I would share that. But I heard two different stories that conflicted somewhat. What I do know is that there was another team of climbers there preparing to climb Satan's Corner. The girl who fell is extremely fortunate that they were there. The second team was able to climb up to her, set an anchor, and lower her to the base of the climb. T., I have your carabiners. Send me an email and I will get them back to you.

Hoping for a speedy recovery! Curious as to the circumstances - hopefully we'll learn a little more to help us all be a bit safer.

Thanks for the help yesterday Bobby. Seems like some people don't 'want to get involved' nowadays. I'm curious to hear what happened too. The only guess I have is that they climbed the first pitch of Beckey's (or maybe Fingertip Var), then tried to traverse over towards Pebbles and Bambam when something happened.

Climbed Beckey's wall today. Looks like you guys had a bit of a mess on your hands. Well done on the rescue. And thanks for taking care of your fellow climbers.
