Like the subject line says, I'm trying to find current conditions in the wind River Range, especially in the Titcomb Basin and Cirque of the Towers areas. Still lots of snow from last winter, or are the approaches pretty dry?

You will need snow shoes for the Winds. If you want to get into Titcomb basin you will have to travel from midnight to 4am because the snow will be hard then and it will be to soft during the day. The cirque is ok to do with snow shoes during the day. There is around 3 foot of snow about 2 miles into the Elkhart park trail. Elkhart probably won't be walkable (w/out snowshoes) until mid to late July. Call the Great Outdoor Shop for more info. 307 367 2440

Cirque is ok right now. I'm not too sure that NOLS has had too many people up there yet. Had a couple of us just get off of Gannett this last week and we will be breaking trail to Fremont Peak this week. I'll let you know how it goes. :)

Again, thanks to all for the information. If the winter storm watch turns out to be for real this could be a very interesting trip, unless I weenie out and go somewhere else.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
