Oregon road trip

Hi all,
A friend and I are looking to take a summer road trip from our home in Durango, CO to visit family in Oregon and are looking to get in some climbing. Though I was born and raised in Oregon I didn't climb while I lived there so I have no idea about great spots other than Smith Rock which we're planning on hitting up while visiting family in Bend.

We'll be coming in from ID, over to Portland, down the coast, over to Bend and either go back east to ID or south to Cali or Nevada.

Any recommendations on some good fun intermediate sport routes/areas?

Thanks everyone!
~Sally

Along the I-84 corridor once you enter Oregon, you can stop at burnt river canyon near Durkee. Check here at mountain project or rock climbing .com for route info. Also further west is a good crag called spring mountain. It is forested and cool in the afternoons but bring bug spray. There is a link to an on-line guide from this site. You can camp at both spots but the camping is better at spring mountain. The drive from one place to another takes about one and a half hours.

Have a good trip!

Hit Spring Mt. Oregon (on your way over) as mark suggested, tons of intermmediate etremely bolted sport routes. If you are going to P-Town then down the coast, when you head back over to bend, cut through Eugene/Springfield and go up the McKenzie to bend. Along the way up the McKenzie, turn right and go over the river at Finn Rock and head up to Flagstone. There are dictions in one of newer oregon guide books, Flagsonte has interesting rock/sport climbing for Oregon.

I would highly recommend making a stop at the Burnt River Canyon. Just a few minutes off of I-84 and lots of routes within 100 ft of the traffic-free canyon road.

The routes that I bolted there are listed here:
mountainproject.com/v/orego…

Many many many more routes if you are ok with going for it without a guidebook. Most of the bolts are close enough together that you can yard your way up anything though...

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
