Exactly the answer I was looking for. I guess I was wondering about size. It just seemed like 30 Liters was what I was using for just my stuff, and I couldn't figure out how much I should add to fit my rope. 50 looks like it might just be the perfect fit.

Instead of another pack why don't you get another person?? Doesn't your partner carry anything?

I guess it is good alpine training though. :)

As responsible climbers as my partners are, we tend to leave things behind, so whatever you bring in, you bring out. Seeing as I have the rope and the draws, I carry my stuff in and out because I don't want it forgotten. But I guess when you're the 6'7" guy, you kind of are the pack animal anyway.

You revived this five-year old thread? Um, good job?

I guess this one is as good as any of the more recent "best crag pack" threads to comment on.

I use the osprey talon 44. Perfect for everything for a day at the crag and plenty of outside attachment options if you want to pack more inside.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
