I am heading to Spain this spring for some climbing and am trying to decide if Mallorca is doable in spring. Is the water too cold for DWS (or in my case DWB deep water bouldering) in late April. If so would late May be any better. I will be in Europe until next fall so the other option is to stick to the mainland this spring and had there late summer.
Also has anyone done Mallorca without a car? Any camping suggestions?
I spent a couple of weeks in mid April in Mallorca. The place is a blast- I liked it better than Thailand. DWS was not en vogue back when I was there, but the routes were great. It was actually quite chilly for a few days, so I would guess that it would be on the early side for jumping in the Mediterranean. Sa Gubia and Santanyi are not to be missed. Mallorca would be a challenge without a car, the crags are spread out, and I don't remember walking to any crags except for one in Pollencia. Hope that helps...
I was there last June and the water was great, a bit cool for me but I live in AZ. One of the days it was cloudy and that was out. I'd recommend going summer rather than spring.
