Any advice/recommendations? |

This looks like a great deal |

In my opinion, take that same amount of money and put it towards an Organic Full Pad/Half Pad setup. Better foam, better materials and it'll last a hell of a lot longer. Plus it'll carry easier and be way more versatile. It's my favorite setup out of anything I've tried. |

After reading some reviews it sounds like the Colossus pad wears very easily. |

Check out the SoILL pads... |

+1 for Organic. I just ordered one last week from Josh and designed it myself. Yeah, I haven't tried it, or ever seen it yet, but I did the research and expect to be pleased. |

I love my Mad Rock Tripple Mad Pad. |

There is zero question - Organic makes the best pads on the market. Between my brother (the V11 boulderer) and me (V-easy), we currently own a Franklin, a Metolius, a Mad Rock, and an Organic. The Organic outshines them all - more cushioning, better foam, more comfortable carrying, and it even looks nicer. |

There is a Madrock pad that has straps on the top and bottom, that when folded and strapped at a 45 degree angle makes an excellent couch for any outdoor occasion. I've got one and it kicks ass. It also is quite a nice, thick, durable crash pad that isn't too pricey. |

If your on a tight budget like me, get the madrock madpad, cheaper than an even thinner metolius pad |

My partner and I have the cheap (relatively) Mad Rock pads, and they have held up very well over the past two years. They've been used fairly often, about twice a week during that time, and have been great in about every situation. The cushioning is good, I've only felt the ground through the pad on 10ft+ falls. |

Organic, hands down. |

Is the organic guy flexible enough to add straps similar to the Madrock Rafe mentioned? I'll admit I am looking for a pad, and Organic sounds promising, but the Madrock outdoor couch idea was like "Ummm doughnuts" |

a few thoughts |

I have always favored the Metolius Cheap Bastard. I got it with a 15% student discount from EMS for less than $100. The foam hinge in the center is great for an awkward fall. |

If you're looking for a cheaper, thick landing, go with the mad pads.... They're like 5 inches thick and very light! Not sure how long they last, I've had one for about a year now with extremely heavy use, and its still in great condition! |

I have had real good experiences with VooDoo and Franklin (now BD). My old Metoulius was ok - seems like they have gotten better over the years though. I wouldn't recommend Mad Rock, unless you are looking for a cheap second pad. The middle joint/hinge between the two sides of the foam isn't real tight and the foam doesn't last too long. It does make a sweet couch, though! |

Thanks for all the replies and opinions. I plan on also using it for sleeping in the bed of my full size truck. |

I agree with Steve. I ordered a pad from Organic for all the reasons he listed. I will eventually buy a Half pad. Theres no reason to go with anything less than the Organic pad. |
