Plush and Club Congress both have a lot of good live music at a decent price (10 bucks or so for nationally touring acts). Solar Culture has some good shows, but is a little more sporadic in scheduling. Rialto is a bigger venue, prices are a little steeper but it is a great place catch a show. There are numerous other small venues that host local bands scattered along 4th Ave and downtown.
Definitely check out Nimbus Brewing for the best local beer.
Well im from the twin cities, MN and we are blessed with a lively and healthy beer and music culture.
I work in rock n roll so the last thing i want to see is the same national acts that I have been forced to hear many times at work allready.
What intrests me is the "Local" sound. No cover acts please.(exceptions exsist...there is a band up here called metalghallager a metalica cover band who the front man dresses as gahllager and even does the sledge o matic shtick)
Whats poupular? what do the punters/scenesters go out to see on a wed night?
As far as beer goes, if they dont distrubute to the midwest then im game. Life is far to short to drink only known beers.
Also suggestions for beer that tastes good warm for those long belay duty sessions.
I will be visiting your fair city for 5-6 days the end of jan thru the start of feb.
