Hi, I am visiting Sedona area for the Thanksgiving week, arriving on 19th. I'd love to go sports climbing at Jacks or any nearby place. I lead up to 10C and follow 11B/C.

I'd also love to get information for nice day hikes around the region.

Thanks!

Well that's not creepy at all.

I think TDog actually goes out of his way to come off as "creepy" for attention. Very strange and not logical!

"not logical" Understatement is really your forte, Luke. All recovered from Beanfest?

MountainMaiden: Don't worry, we won't let anyone stalk you while you're at Jack's.

Hao Fang: You might check out the Phoenix and Tucson climbing Meetups. I'm sure someone from either group would be glad to hit Jack's of the Thanksgiving weekend. Links:

Brigette: Thanks for the links. I will try those.

Since you guys are obviously local, any route choice suggestion?

I'll probably hit Jacks Canyon this coming Friday, and then this Sunday, coming Monday, on Thanksgiving day and then next Sunday. If you would like to climb, shout me an email: bkerzhner@juno.com. I know a lot of routes there, so I can tell you what's good and what to avoid

There are SO many routes at Jack's, and you climb considerably harder than I do, so I don't have any specific recommendations for you. Get hold of a copy of Diedre Burton's guide - the routes with the smileys in her book are the local classics.

Jack's has a reputation for its routes being considerably easier than their rating would suggest. This is not always the case, but, as TDog mentioned, you may be able to lead higher grades at Jack's.

Either way, Jack's is fun climbing in a beautiful setting, with sunny and shady walls to suit your needs all day. You'll have a great time!

To Brigette: Thanks for the advice. I have this book by Burton and Steagall. I will respect the grades of FA, it is always good to be humble.

To the Boodge: Thanks for the website. For people from Midwest, AZ weather is no threat whatsoever.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
