yep, I'd say this gear is HOT! |
Hot for sure... although that is a nice looking cam scrapper. |
In general I think these posts bashing someone selling cheap gear on ebay are silly... |
"I can't really read anything on these anymore and forget the name brand, one says RP. They are used so be aware of that." |
He has great seller ratings though ;) |

mlhitch70 says his wife (5'2") and he has used the aid gearsling but calls it a: "North Face rock climbing cam pack vest holder" and the cleaning tool is a "rock climbing nut hold cam scrapper" |

I asked via eBay: |
Just curious. I never use EBAY so I don't know the details. |

Buy some of the gear, get the dudes return address and then follow him around with a video camera until you see him steal something else. Sucks but there isn't a whole lot you can do until you get some hard evidence. |

cheifitj wrote:We can all talk about it, what can we actual do? Mostly just talk about it and hope someone notices their gear on eBay. Typically if the description is a bit off and it is obvious the seller is not a climber, I don't assume the worst, but this is a fairly severe case. This guy doesn't have a clue what he has. The "Black Diamond C3 or C4" I was asking him about is really an old Metolius TCU with smooth cam lobes and a tied-on sling. The carabiner probably is a BD thus his description. |

cheifitj wrote:Just curious. I never use EBAY so I don't know the details. Is there a feature for reporting what you believe may be stolen goods? To perhaps put the auction on hold. I don't know how they would follow up on the situation anyway, but I believe those items are stolen and I wonder if there is anything that can be done. We can all talk about it, what can we actual do? Jon There is a report feature on ebay where you can report an item as possibly stolen. |

In addition to the above, he describes a bunch of Wild Country friends as "definitely Black Diamond". I reported all his things as "suspected stolen" to eBay. These people piss me off. |

So what is a "North Face rock climbing cam pack vest holder" ? Can't tell from the thumbnail, and no bigger pic loads for me. |

Mark Cushman wrote: He replied promptly: all of my gear I bought new with a freind that tried to get me into the sport. I used a few things once and then quit. I let me friend use pretty much all of the gear for a couple years. I got it back and am now selling it. I really know nothing about the sport, sorry I wish I could help. I guess I got you guys stirred up a bit. It just didn't look right, and while his explanation is almost plausible, the gear doesn't really even fit his excuse. The tech friend and tcu's seem to be at least a decade old, maybe a couple. Wayne wrote:So what is a "North Face rock climbing cam pack vest holder" ? Wayne wrote:So what is a "North Face rock climbing cam pack vest holder"? It's a gear sling for double and triple pieces for aid climbing. Aid is not an aspect of the sport that beginners dabble in. |

I also reported the gear on ebay as stolen. |
