I think however, that more trash comes from general public than climbers... Does anyone remember the family of Coots that was working on destroying the land with their dirtbikes the weekend of Beanfest... You could literally follow the trail of trash and beer cans right to the front steps of their camp...Ignorance is bliss when you live in a shithole...

Thanks, everyone, for sounding off on the RSVPs. That helps allot on the t-shirt count, etc. Okay, more pressing issue at hand: Steve has taken me up on the offer to give up the planned weekend for doing the clean up on the 7th and 8th of November. This will probably push the cleanup into December. It's fine with me because that gives me more time to plan but how does that sit with everyone? I know there are a couple folks that have all of November tied up so are there any exclusions for December? The good news is that the weather should be really nice. Maybe i should push for enough dough to get hoodies! =) Thoughts please and thanks again for all the responses!

I can do 12/12-13 or 12/19-20. I'm thinking it'll be nice to have more time to put this all together.

How about the weekend after Thanksgiving? 28th and 29th?

Those of us that don't do a big turkey day family get-together don't mind the weekend after Thanksgiving, but from past experience lots of folks will have family in town or will be out of town visiting family that weekend.

I am open for moving it to December, if necessary. The more folks, the cleaner Cochise's resting place.

Great news... I just spoke with the Douglas ranger district FS office and they are going to supply all the trash bags, a trailer and the service to bring the trailer out and pick it back up. The FS also said they would participate. They are absolutely thrilled about us doing this. He mentioned to me that this is something they have wanted to tackle for years now but, due to insufficient staffing, have not been able to. In response to him asking if there was anything else they could help with, i asked for water, pickup poles, and canvas shoulder pickup bags if he can round them up. He's going to see what he can do. Matt is working a couple more leads on potential sponsors for door prizes and raffle items. The Access Fund has responded with a raffle rope and other swag bag items. Additionally, they might be able to provide a grant; more to come on that. Again, sorry to keep moving the date but I offered up the 7th and 8th for Beanfest and Steve took it. So we're up in the air once again looking for what works best to get the largest turnout. Please keep the suggestions/exclusions coming on a date. Looking ahead (not too far ahead, i hope) I can't wait to start circulating the photo of all of us standing in front of a huge mound of trashbags at the Isle of You campground.

Maybe you could announce it at the Reel Rock Film festival in Sept. So many climbers go to that you might get a good turn out.

You're never gonna please everyone as far as dates, better to just set a date that works for those who are really putting in the work to organize it, like you and Brigette..Lots of people will show up regardless.. If I can't make it, I'll try to donate a couple of those trash-picker-upper things, very helpful in cleaning up the side of the 805 in San Diego many many years ago heh heh...

I vote strenuously for 12/12-13. I realized yesterday that holding it on the last shopping weekend before Christmas might be a very bad idea, if we're looking for the biggest turnout we can get.
