Hey all-

Jeff Fassett, who owns and operates Arizona Climbing Guides, is offering some low-cost local's courses this summer. He put a bit of info about his next course up recently, I wanted to share the remainder of the summer schedule with you.

For those of you who don't know Jeff, he's an exceptionally knowledgeable guide who's been teaching for years. I can personally attest that you'll learn a ton from him!

Here's the schedule:

ANCHORS: July 11
Learn the appropriate way to build anchors and rigging for top roping or multi-pitch climbing. Our professional guides will teach you modern techniques or review and improve your current skills.

INTRO TO LEAD CLIMBING: July 25
Learn the basic fundamentals of being on the "sharp end". This class will highlight skills needed to lead a wide variety of climbs from bolted clip-ups to single pitch traditional gear climbs.

MULTI-PITCH TRADITIONAL CLIMBING: August 1st
Intermediate and advanced techniques are highlighted for safer and more efficient multi-pitch climbing.

SELF-RESCUE: August 22
The perfect gift for your favorite climbing partner—the life you save may be your own! Belay escapes, leader rescue, knot passes, lowering, and raising skills are all highlighted.

The classes are just $49, which is a killer deal. For further information contact Jeff at (520) 721-6751 or jfassett@climbarizona.com.

Regards,
Geir

I've taken a rescue class from Jeff and Geir in the past, and I have to wholeheartedly recommend it. The class was clear, and useful (I'd been climbing for 10 years at the time and done some rescue studying on my own, and there was still plenty for me to learn.)

Plus, Jeff is just a great guy all around. I can't encourage folks enough to give him some business.

Jeff,

My 15-year-old daughter has been climbing with me off and on, and she's really getting into it. She's got the basic climbing and top-rope belaying skills, but she's never lead belayed. I'm hoping to find a professional to teach her, so that nothing imperative to safety gets missed. Can you help?

All: I ended up signing my daughter up for Jeff's Beginner class in July. She had a great time and learned a ton!

I highly recommend that anyone who wants to learn correct, safe technique talk to Jeff about taking one of his classes. At $49, it's a steal!
