Wired Bliss TCUs

Can anyone tell me what they like/dislike about these? Came up on a deal and trying to see if I should put my money to Metolius or something.

I had some Wired Bliss years ago. I thought they were out of business. They worked fine but I don't think they have cam stops on them. At least my early ones didn't. That would be a deal breaker for me. I love Metolius.

Good point. I am on a budget and these small cams would supplement my rack pretty well. They don't really have any signs of wear... maybe racked a few times. I just don't know how glaringly outdated they are since the company doesn't really exist anymore. I've had some buds say that they aren't much different from metolius. Anyone else have any input?

I climbed on Wired Bliss for years. They are basically identical to the metolius units that were made at the time. (I recall some explanation about a former employee of one company starting the other, but don't know if that was true or not).

Mine worked great, and I still own them. The only reason I don't use mine much anymore is they were getting pretty beat up from years of use. I still climb on them in the desert (when I need 7 cams of the same size). I replaced them with metolius units. I like the cam stops on the new units, but I can't say that was really ever much of an issue for me.

If the wired bliss you are looking at are still in good shape, and you like the price, I'd say get them. The one thing that was occasionally a problem was they had their own color scheme that no one was familiar with, so people didn't like using my gear. I solved that a few years ago when I decided it was time to resling them. I had them reslung with metolius color coding since the cams are basically the same size and many people are familiar with it.

I used a small, red Wired Bliss TCU that was about the same size as a .3 Camalot. I thought it was a good piece, though, as others have mentioned, it did lack cam stops, which is something I look for in a cam. That said, it placed well and did the job just fine.

If I was looking for a cams and Wired Bliss fit the bill and were a good deal I'd buy them.

Unsolicited opinion ahead - you mentioned Metolius cams as an alternative, I have to say that I wouldn't buy Metolius cams at full price again, neither Powercams (used my partner's rack, #5 - #10) nor Mastercams (I have 0,1,2)

Wired Bliss have the smoothest action out there.

I have a double set of TCU and FCU. Still in use.

They were the first cams I bought for my rack in the late 80s right there in Flagsstaff, AZ.

I am always looking for more. Scan the internet actions all the time.

If you don't buy them maybe I can.

By the way, has anyone relied on an SLCDs cam stop??

Have a set, place 'em a lot. Smooth action as mentioned before. Buy them.

I still have some of my first SLCD's- Wired Bliss. The were superior initially to Metolius since they were using a smoother spring action. Yes, no cam stops and identical to TCU's.
