This may be old news to some of you but I just discovered this and find it hysterical.

If some of you get surly in your posts I think this will become my new recommendation. Some MPers should replace their chalk with this right now, you know who you are.

I got something similiar as a sample at RRR. It made me smell like a sweaty baked ham. The chalk worked fine, though.

We tried this last fall. It smells good, but we ended up chalking up before every move, it just didn't seem to "stick" to our hands.

I ended up with some chalk out of desperation one weekend that had ground cloves (lizard something) in it and now my chalk bag, and everything that it gets near smells like pumpkin pie.

My friend invented that chalk. The cloves are apparently supposed to help minimize pain you may experience in your fingers from flappers, tender tips, etc. I tried it a long time ago, but the downside to me is that it's ground so finely you have to use a lot (and I don't even use that much chalk).

I don't have a problem with the chalk, the comments from my climbing partners get out of line mainly. I use a chalk ball so I can't say I've noticed a problem with the the chalk being too fine.

My sister got me clove scented chalk for my birthday once...it smelled alright at first but that was three years ago and to this day i still occasionally get a whiff of it. It worked alright but it would be categorized more as, "You won't be able to pull a run out crux without getting a headache," and, "your belayer will constantly question your heterosexuality."

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
