Snow conditions on Longs Peak!

Hello again.

Thanks for the info. Picked up crampons and ice axes at Neptunes and went to RMNP. Got the backcountry permit and hiked to Boulderfield. The trail was partly covered in snow, was wet. Didn't like the hike.
On the 22nd we got an early start. Good firm snow. Got through key hole. Walked the colouir up (crampons on). Traversed the ledges (almost clear from snow). Walked the last steep part up to summit. Crampons and ice ace necessary. Walked back to Bouldersfield. Packed up our tent. Hiked back to Ranger station. Wet snow. Couldn't fint the trail through the woods so we followed the small stream. Didn't like the hike.
Overall, got to the top! Very nice conditions to go for the summit. Bit a lot of wet snow on the way to camp site.

1. Save them to your profile.

2. Note the image ID#, below the image.

3. When writing the thread, you just add:

<img=ID#>

where 'ID#' is the image ID# you noted, above... click 'text formatting features' (shown when entering a post) for more info.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
