Sorry for the link but sense you can't attach images on MP i had to use a link.

Anyways i hope someone can id this route. The picture is not the greatest but what the picture does not show is a triangular boulder on the top of the climb. I found the photo on here and can't remember what route or where it was. I know this is a shot in the dark but if anyone knows the route or location it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

thanks that was it. How is turkey rocks? Whens the best time to go? Is worth visiting on a road trip? Looks like it has a lot of moderate crack climbs. Right up my alley.

It can be an anytime destination, though access is a little bit tougher in the winter. Summer can be bakin ass hot

Worth visiting ...yes. A destination for a cross country trip...no. If you come through Colorado, it would be worth your while for a couple of days, but then move on and sample some of our other World-class areas! JMO Stu

oh yea i think we would be doing a road trip of colorado hitting up multiple places. turkey rocks being one of them... i would agree i would not drive across the country just for TR but for a road trip of what colorado has to offer i don't see why not...

Yes, That is Quivering Quill. Take a look at hte offset corner at the top where it emerges to face left, the angle, and the tower on the left side of the formation, not to mention the backdrop.

Desitnation? It's just another climb there, noting special for the area. Which is to say, the area is worth visiting when things like that are $.10/dozen.

Buff,
Where's your sense of indignation? Isn't that your playground?

He sounded like a crack climbin redneck, so he'll fit right in during his journey. Coming in from the South to do a visit to Turkey; it's all good. Anyone that likes a route called Black Pig is already on the righteous path.

The Quill has some good moves & good pro, anyways; but so does just about all the climbs here. It's the camping with the buds & budettes that make it a destination; nude co-ed fire jumping with a little JD makes it world class.

i'd say its much more of a destination than that supposed world class pile known as eldo....

Nice troll. I looked at your profile & saw on your top five four-star climbs that 3 are Eldo. Good times!

  • *** The Bastille Crack 5.7
  • *** West Face [Bastille] 5.11a
  • *** Respite 5.11d
  • *** Jolt Cola 5.12-
  • *** Star Wars 5.8

Just because i'm from the great state of Georgia does not make a redneck. Thats a common misconception. If you ever make it down south i'll show you some southern hospitality. Don't hate because we can climb year around on southern sandstone and granite... and no buff i don't take offense to your posts..

tony,

my star ratings for eldo on based on eldo only. sure, there are a handful of good routes there, but the density of good routes is really poor. also, comparing the best of eldo to the best of other places is laughable.

Maybe my sense of humor is limited, but what's even remotely laughable about that? Best of eldo are better than best of most other places, not quite as good the best of world class areas. You may disagree in thinking eldo is either better or worse--still don't see what's funny though.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
