That guy Lee is strong. This summer when we were climbing the Nose in a day, Lee and his partner passed us. I had just reached Sickle Ledge when I heard them start and not knowing who they were, thought, "oh we're moving plenty fast (57 minutes to Sickle) and have a good head start so they shouldn't be a concern for a while." By the time my partner had finished cleaning the last of pitch 4 and I had climbed pitch 5 (an easy pitch) Lee had met me at the top of pitch 5. I realized how fast they were moving when I saw Lee reach an anchor at the top of the 2nd or 3rd pitch and quickly pull up the rope, tie it off and then start "running" up the next 5.10/5.11 section of climbing with a massive loop of rope running free in a Peruvian Death Flake setup. Mighty impressive. I think they topped out in about 7 hours that day in an onsight effort.
Edited to add: I just realized Lee's partner that day was Jake, the same partner in Patagonia. Another amazing tidbit was that Lee led every pitch.
