I looked for some sort of list in the forums, but there is none to be found (if it exists please add a link). I am moving to the area in a week or so and want to get after some of the classic routes there, but have no idea what they are...

What are the BEST routes (of all grades) in the area?

I'll start you out:

The Naked Edge 5.11
Vertigo 5.11
Bastille Crack 5.7

If you go to Neptune Mountaineering in Boulder they have a great little tri-fold brochure that documents the best trad climbs in the Front Range Area and another for the best Alpine routes on the Front Range. Sick tick list.

I was in Neptune the other day to pick one of those up and I asked them to put that list back on their website. I just checked and it looks like they have the brochure as a PDF linked directly from their main page. Thanks, guys!

Hi Ben,

Too many to list. Chris's suggestion of procuring the list from Neptunes is a great idea.
As a climber, you must make the pilgrimage to Neptunes anyway.

I see from your profile that you are from MN & WI

Are you a Taylors Falls or Devils Lake local?

I'm a transplant from the Minneapolis area myself, who made the move to Colorado for the climbing back in '82

sincerely,

Use the "Best Routes for You" search engine on this site to come up with a more specialized list.

Make sure you check out the S. Platte, for some of the best crack and slab climbing in the state.

Enjoy!

making this list a difficult (at least very lengthy) task. beyond the neptune ticks, check out rossiter's entire 'best of boulder' book, or- for the canyon- the may 08 mp thread: eldo tour of classics.

Thanks much for the info dudes. I am now in town and loving it - so much to do!! The Neptune list is certainly the hell of a tick list. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
