if we post a comment in a forum it means we want people to read it. yet with longer posts it becomes less likely that anyone will read the whole thing. i'd be willing to bet that 90% of the time when someone browsing MP comes across a gigantic post, they read only the first few sentences before their eyes glaze over and they move on to the next one. typically, this is what i do. believe it or not, people do actually want to read your comments. unfortunately, if you have an insight and feel you need to go into a lot of detail to express your thoughts, you severely lower your chances of those thoughts being heard. climbers are expert problem-solvers, and i have the utmost confidence that whatever it is we have to say can be condensed into a couple of paragraphs. as an example, look at this post. i could have easily written pages on this subject, but then no one would have read it. cheers

Jon has a point. I suppose. To a point. I reckon. If you add ADD + general lack of interest to a certain topic you get this haiku I offer up. Low attention span Blah blah, blah blah blah, blah blah Do I really care? JJ
